Just days after my recent my three-week trip to Taiwan, I visited the always-lovely crew at CH Morning Live to talk about some my favourite things that I used during my travels. Whether you are off on a winter getaway or thinking about a serious long-haul trip (like mine), these are suggestions to make getting where you are going and staying organized easier, and help you look great while you're there. You can watch the segment here, and below are links to the items and brands I discussed.
If you are looking for anything and everything related to swimwear - whether it's for lounging on the beach or those morning laps, Swimco has an incredible selection of swimwear and accessories for women, men and kids. This Canadian company has fit consultants online and in-store to get you the suit that suits you best (see what I did there?) as well of a huge range of speciality sizes and items. Plus I love their body positive campaigns and message - as of Fall 2017 they only use real people as their swimsuit models, and want everyone to #feelgoodhalfnaked.
This luggage brand is known for its iconic design and functionality. I love their aluminum cases and the range of colours available in their polycarbonate styles. Rimowa cases are just smart and beautiful. Integrated TSA locks and multiwheel design are just the kind of things that once you have them, you never want to go back. Ever. Plus their e-tag feature (a.k.a. a digital luggage tag linked to an app on your phone) worked seamlessly with our carrier EVA Air and select other airlines is just the coolest feature. I have mentioned my love for our Bugaboo Bee 5 stroller many times before. It's been our only stroller at home in Toronto, plus we have taken it to California with us, and now across the world to Taiwan. Three years in, and I still love my Bee. Lightweight, one-piece fold, stylish. Enough said.
If you want to stay organized when you travel, packing cubes are amazing! These ones, available in a few different sizes from MEC were perfect for socks, t-shirts, cables (so many cables), my son's clothes, toiletries and more. CONTAIR
Everybody knows those hotel room hair dryers never cut it. But this lightweight, relatively compact 3Q Brushless Motor Dryer from Conair definitely does. If you're in need of a straightening iron (which can do double duty for waves), this mini version will do the trick at half the size of your regular model.
For long-haul trips like the one we just went on, laundry is going to need to get done, especially with a toddler in tow. The Laundress makes perfect little (TSA friendly size) travel kits that contain non-toxic stain removers, detergents, fabric refreshers and more.
